Resumo
The Internet of Things (IoT) is an extension of the internet that has a high heterogeneity of devices, cloud services and communication protocols, comprising different research areas. There are also situations where things change their locations and networks, bringing even more complexity to this scenario. This thesis aims to propose an architecture(called smAR2 t) that allows the creation of standardized virtual interaction environments which can help handle these heterogeneity related issues by using: the World Wide Web Consortium ’s Web of Things standards to tackle interoperability; Augmented Reality as an alternate User Interface(UI) for environments with high density of things; Model Driven Engineering techniques to create a model that can turn feasible generating reactive and customizable UIs for any compliant thing at runtime. For each one of these 3 aspects, a corresponding case study was designed and developed. They detail which implementation decisions, tools, languages and techniques were used, as well as which issues were found and their respective counter-measures. Even though the case studies were not integrated into a single application, their resulting artifacts serve as input to each other, demonstrating that smAR2 t can provide a foundation for developers as well as important insights for scientists, contributing to the future of IoT.
